Good AM Christian friend. Friendly reminder of N.T Doctrine that the H.S taught us through the apostles. The laws given the nation of Israel to govern them in the land of promise could NEVER take away sins Heb 10:4. God was NOT pleased with the blood of animals for the clearing of their souls sin Heb 10:6. The works of the law could NOT clear their sins, but a body God prepared to offer as a perfect sacrifice could, and THAT bodies' blood would- Heb 10:5-12 KJV. What covered & forbeared the sins of HIs people throughout time up to the cross, was His mercy- Ex 34:6-7 "The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth...forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin" Their sins weren't CLEARED until the perfect sacrifice was offered on the cross, Christ offered Himself as THE atonement, not just for them, but for the whole world- "that will by no means clear the guilty"; For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. So what's the conclusion to the old debate from Acts 15 concerning the law for salvation & justification for the souls of men? "Peter rose up, and said unto them...Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they."- Acts 15:7-11. The law ONLY condemned men, it demanded perfect righteousness of obedience both in spirit ( i.e inwardly form the heart) & outwardly in action. The law was a yoke, a burden for men to carry; The H.S through Paul called it "the yoke of bondage"- Gal 5:1 KJV, the H.S said me were cursed by it "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse"- Gal 3:10 KJV. Here's the ? the H.S asks Christians when deceived by false preachers that seek to bring them under the law- "how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"- Gal 4:9 KJV. To my non-Christian friends, if you're tired of trying to convince yourself that your personal works through religion will earn you into heaven, if you find yourself questioning religious people demanding of you works you must do and maintain for your soul's salvation, I invite you today to simply call on God through His Son Jesus and ask Him to save you! He changes our hearts through His love, something religion cannot do through it's list of commandments they say you must keep to be saved or to be changed from within. Jesus said, John 8:36 (KJV) If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Friend, would you give Jesus Christ a chance to show you the freedom He offers you from your sins condemnation against God? We're all guilty of breaking God's laws He's placed within our hearts, but Jesus wasn't. That's why God can save us when we put our faith in Jesus, because He paid the penalty of our sinful lives against God's laws- our wages of our sin was death. But Christ died on the cross in our place. My friend, Jesus saves, religion enslaves. Religion expects works, relationship offers love! Christian friend, continue to grow in your relationship with the One who gave Himself for you, not through your works or feelings, but through the knowledge of Him through His Word- In love, Brother Carlos.
