âœï¸♥ï¸ðŸ”¥ðŸ“– "And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God." (Gen 21:33 KJV)
The word 'everlasting' is used 5x before this verse above in Genesis;
Gen 9:16, 17:7, 17:8, 17:13, 17:19.
'Everlasting covenant'- 4x.
'Everlasting possession'- 1x.
The phrase 'Everlasting God' is only used once in Genesis, in the above-mentioned verse, and only 2 other x's in the Bible:
Isaiah 40:28; Romans 16:26.
This knowledge of God's everlasting presence and character was proclaimed by Abraham after the miraculous supernatural birth of his son Isaac. Abraham learned something powerful after 25 years of waiting on God, and that is that his God is THE ‘everlasting God’. His timing is perfect, His ways (as Job said “Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number. (Job 9:10 KJB); as Paul said “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! (Ro 11:33 KJB)” are not our ways. God said later through Isaiah, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isa 55:8-9 KJB).
What I lack all the time as a Christian is believing the promises of God through His everlasting nature. God asks a profound question here in Isaiah: “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” (Isa 40:28 KJB) God never faints and never grows weary. His thoughts, plans and purposes are beyond our comprehension; and THAT’S ENOUGH for us to know about Him! I’ve never seen God, but it’s ok. I’ve never heard His audible voice, but thats ok. One thing that my God wants me to remember about Him is this, He is the everlasting God. Time is of no issue nor concern with Him, in dealing with me and fulfilling His plan & purposes for my life. What I have to do daily is remind myself that He is the everlasting God! His person, His very nature, is eternal and unhindered by time itself. I don’t have to ‘wait’ for eternal life, I have it now as I type this devotional! I don’t have to wait for His forgiveness for my sins, I’ve already received His pardon the day I called on His Son to save my soul! I am glad to know who I worship and why I worship Him. But when God leads me through this life, and simply expects for me take Him at His word, even though it might take 25 years for Him to fulfill it, He will, and I am ok with that. So, for you Christian friend out there who might be feeling weary or tired at what you ‘perceive’ as God ‘not’ taking notice to your life, can I remind you of this amazing verse from the bible? For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Col 3:3 KJB). You are a lot closer to Him than you think! It’s all good.
In love- Brother Carlos. 😊ðŸ™
