Amigo cristiano, antes de que discutas conmigo sobre por qué quieres seguir bebiendo alcohol, permíteme con amor recordarte lo que dice la Biblia al respecto, no tu pastor, no la cultura de tu iglesia, no tus tradiciones o sentimientos, sino las escrituras. La ley dada a la nación de Israel prohibía al sacerdocio levítico consumir bebidas fermentadas mientras ejecutaban su servicio para el Señor. Dado que Jesucristo mismo era Dios manifestado en carne, y en Su primera venida vino a morir por nuestros pecados, ¿habría estado calificado para operar como el Sumo Sacerdote de nuestra fe en un sacerdocio superior al sacerdocio levítico si hubiera quebrantado las leyes? mandamiento bebiendo bebidas fermentadas? En definitiva amigo cristiano, ¿por qué permites que entre en tu cuerpo esta sustancia que afecta tu corazón, tu mente y tu sobriedad? ¿No preferirías tener un cuerpo libre de escombros espirituales que pueda altar tu juicio y ser sabio como Dios te ordenó ser? Por favor oren al Señor y pídanle que los ayude a someter su deseo por aquellas cosas que están siendo un obstáculo para su sobriedad espiritual: Ya sea hierba, drogas, pornografía, Jesús puede ayudarte. Christian friend, before you argue with me about why you want to keep drinking alcohol, allow me in love to remind you of what the Bible says about it, not your pastor, not your church culture, not your traditions or feelings, but scripture. The law given the nation of Israel forbad the Levitical priesthood to consume fermented beverages while they executed their service for the Lord. Since Jesus Christ Himself was God manifest in the flesh, and at His first advent came to die for our sins, would He have been qualified to operate as the High Priest of our faith in the priesthood superior than the Levitical priesthood if He broke the laws commandment by drinking fermented beverages? No, read Hebrews. The water He turned into wine in John 2 was not converted into alcohol or strong drink since there was no time for the beverage to ferment. The water was instantaneously converted, which was converted into what we would equate to grape juice. Freshly squeezed grapes is what the Bible word wine denotes. Ge 49:11; Nu 6:3; Mt 26:29. Lastly, let’s consider a favorite used by my brethren to keep sipping the bubbly; Ephesians 5:18 (KJV) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. The word drunk here is in the past tense. In order for me not to be drunk with wine, I therefore should not drink it in the first place. God said that is excess. But excess of what? The lusts of the flesh - Ro 13:13 “drunkenness”; 1Co 5:11 “drunkards”; Ga 5:21 “drunkenness”. Ultimately Christian friend, why allow this substance to enter into your body that affects your heart, mind, and sobriety ? Wouldn’t you rather want to have a body free from spiritual debris that can alter your judgement and be wise like God commanded you to be? Please pray to the Lord and ask Him to assist you with submitting your desire for those things which are being a hinderance to your spiritual sobriety: whether its weed, drugs, pornography etc., Jesus can help you overcome.
