📖1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. Isaiah 30:1-3 (KJB)
💡â¤ðŸ”¥Good morning Christian friend. Here’s another great lesson we can learn from the Old Testament scriptures;
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4 (KJB).
Some of the children of Israel were called ‘rebellious children’, but why? Because they refused to ask God for counsel, direction, guidance from his scriptures; and chose rather to trust in the world’s counsel (their friends, family, surrounding cultures and governing forces who didn’t trust in the scriptures) that were physically present and a quicker aide, than God, according to their perspective. Might I remind you of something friend, even though your unbelieving friends and family, and all the social media and worldly influence around you are ready to help you quicker than God (as you see it), it doesn’t mean that your outcome will be right. I understand that being patient is difficult, we prefer our ‘fast-food’ ‘microwave’ dinner quick preparation than a slower process of cooking a meal when we’re hungry; but is it worth the wait? Yes! God’s timing is not our timing, the bible says ‘He hath made every thing beautiful in his time’- Ecc 3:11. God also said,
For my thoughts are not your 📖thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJB). I’d just like to encourage you this morning Christian friend, be patient in the LORD!
📖Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalm 37:7 (KJB)
Don’t simply give into the ‘quicker’ scheme of things since you see the prosperity of the ways of the world; because even though the unbeliever prospers, it doesn’t denote that they’re living right before God, or that their means are right. What we should concern ourselves with is being right in all of our conduct before the living God! We don’t want to be rebellious children, but obedient children. Therefore, what does the New Testament teach us Christians concerning what type of children we should be living as before the living God?
📖14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:14-16 (KJB)
Obedient children! What marks the difference between obedient from rebellious children? Obedient children ask and take counsel of God; rebellious children do not. Obedient children don’t try to cover their sins with a cloke of secretness (1Th 2:5; 1Pe 2:16), but rather clothe themselves with humility (1 Pet5:5). And lastly, obedient children don’t strengthen themselves in the ways of the world, or worldly forces for support; but strengthen themselves in the words of the living God, being ‘strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man’- Eph 3:16; they remember what the psalmist prayed for concerning the source of true strength;
📖My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Psalm 119:28 (KJB);
Therefore remember that ‘Wisdom is better than strength’- Ecc 9:16. Rebellious children draw their strength from alcohol, drugs, ungodly relationships, ungodly counsel, the mammon of unrighteousness, their own understanding etc. So, in conclusion, don’t be a rebellious child, be a wise child of the living God. Wise children read, study, and obey the counsel of their heavenly Father; rebellious children don’t!
In love- Brother Carlos.😊
