Deuteronomy 4:30-31 (KJV) When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
Christian friend, here is another great lesson for us to learn. I’d like to share some application with you from this O.T Text although it was written in context unto the nation of Israel, not the N.T Church. The Bible says we can gain instruction from ALL scripture (2 Tim 3:16 KJV). Christian friend, if you find yourself straying from the love of God in your heart, and much like the wayward son in Luke 15, who “took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living…It is not to late to repent and call out to God for His mercy to help you return back to Him in your heart, and return back to the narrow road of righteousness. Here’s what the younger son realized over time, as his heart of convinced of sin by his conscience, “I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee”. Christian friend, may I remind you that your heavenly Father is a God of compassion & mercy, not willing that you perish in your carnal and wayward living, much like the father’s heart for his young son, likewise spiritually would respond “his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” It’s never too late to return to God, restore your walk with Him in obedience. I once was a wayward child to for a while. Once I came to my senses by responding to the convincing of my sin by the Spirit’s drawing, I repented after a godly sort, and praise God I’ve been back in the Father’s house clothed, merry, enjoying this restored walk with my heavenly Father. God is good. In love- Brother Carlos.
