📖But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Jeremiah 1:7 (KJB)
â¤ðŸ”¥ðŸ’¡Good morning Christian friend, I hope and pray all is well with you. I have a question for you, how many of you would obey the call of God to go and preach unto your own nation God’s words, being told that they will not listen to you but fight against you? Will you attempt this at first, then quit later on because your preaching, your teaching and ministering is falling upon deaf ears? Well, consider the life of this amazing you man who was called of God before His birth, Jeremiah the prophet. He was ordained of God to preach unto his people, the children of Israel, during a time when they as a whole were rebelling against the laws of God given them by Moses, and whose heart had turned from the true God to worship false gods. Jeremiah was just a youth when he was met by God, and God told him to ‘go!’.
Many times we likewise encounter something similar, yet in a different application or setting. Obviously, these special callings (like Jeremiah’s) were unique to God’s order during those days when dealing with His people Israel, by supernaturally appearing unto men in order to use them as His spokesman to the people. God is NOT operating after the same manner today, but He has however ordained His Christian children to ‘Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature- Mark 16:15. This is the calling and ordination for every saved believer, regardless of our biological differences. Yes, we know later that the Lord Jesus added some rules to the blueprint for the building of His church, where He specifically limited the roles of apostles, pastors, bishops and deacons to biological males (1 Tim 3, Titus 1, 1 Cor 14:34-35. 1 Tim 2), NOT females.
However, back to the lesson, we can all learn something from Jeremiah’s ministry. Imagine being selected by God, shown by God all the evil works of the people in your city and your future ministry; and He forewarns you that they would not listen, but rebel and fight back against you, how would you respond to such a task? Many Christians today grow weary in well doing in church plants because they see ‘lack of fruit, or no fruit’ (whatever this means, it’s a subjective statement to those individuals), other believers grow weary in serving in their local church ministry because their youth don’t listen, their adults don’t listen, they see a spirit of rebellion growing from their members and eventually feel like quitting. Sadly, many believers have quit from this calling because of experiencing these types of difficulties and hardships. But, they shouldn’t have, nor should we. For you see, God told us ahead of time of the difficulties that lie ahead of our Christian ministry;
📖For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 2 Timothy 1:7-8
📖Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Timothy 4:2-5
God said;
📖Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12
💡So, will life be more difficult by simply believing the truth of God’s word, and calling on Jesus Christ to save our souls? No. But, will life be more difficult by OBEYING the commands given us as His disciples? Yes. Why? Because of the spiritual warfare we are constantly opposed by in heavenly places from satan and evil angels/ spirits/ devils (Ephesians 6, Mark 4, 1 Peter 5:8-9), and this ‘this present evil world’ Gal 1:4 we are surrounded by where ‘all men have not faith.’- 2 The 3:2, being surrounded by the ‘the things that are in the world.’- 1 John 2:15-17. Obedient believers will face opposition, disobedient believers will not.
God did not ordain us to quit however, but to be victorious as ambassadors of the true King, His Son the Lord Jesus. We must remember that it is His power that seeks to operate in us and through us, for the accomplishment of His word to come to pass; ‘I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one’- 1 John 2:14. God told Jeremiah long ago; ‘Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. Jer 1:12’.
God promised to fulfill His word in you and through you, if you and will but trust Him and not quit on the calling He’s called us unto in the service of His dear Son. One, in reaching the lost, and two, in edifying the saints in our local church. Those trials then should be good signs, not bad ones; that your position in the battlefield is fruitful, otherwise without them, are we really being obedient to the call?
In love- Brother Carlos 😊
