🔊âœ♥Good morning Christian friend, I hope and pray all is well with you. Here's another nugget of application from O.T doctrine written unto Israel where we could find some spiritual application for us as N.T Christians. Here is the question. What type of fig are you today? Are you a good fig, or an evil fig? Here in Jeremiah 24 'The LORD shewed Jeremiah two baskets of figs, set before the temple of the LORD; One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad. The good figs represented faithful believing jews in Jehovah, the evil figs represented un-faithful non believing jews in Jehovah. God promised to give unto either of the two groups something in response to their heart attitude towards Gods laws, and his prophet Jeremiah preaching unto them. How they responded to His words denoted their heart attitude towards God. The bible says that God knoweth the secrets of the heart- Ps 44:21, also that He 'searcheth the hearts'- Rom 8:27; here's how God acknowledgement of you and towards you, will be proportionate to your hearts response to His words, i.e. according to your hearts response to His word. ‘And shall not he render to every man according to his works?'- Pr 24:12. Of course as Christians we don't have to fear being 'cut out' of the land of Israel, or have fear of and invading army as consequence to our disobedience to His word; but, when we do harden our hearts against His commands, we should not be surprised with how He responds to us concerning that. Lastly, consider His promise to the good figs, 'Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah...For I will set mine eyes upon them for good...And I will give them an heart to know me'. Christian friend, if you find yourself struggling in your knowledge of God, could it be because of the state of your heart? How have you been nurturing the soil of your heart lately? Do you love reading His bible daily, praying and attending a local church to listen to a pastor preach, teach and feed your soul with His words, or no? God promised to 'acknowledge' the good figs, but why? Because of their heart's response to His word. Today, 'Harden not your hearts...Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God; But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin; While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts'- Heb 3:7-15. Listen to the Holy Spirit, by reading and obeying His written word, which IS HIS VOICE preserved- Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice. In love- Brother Carlos.😊
